Para GH — Privacy Policy Last updated: November 2025
About This Policy
This policy explains how Para GH collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data. It is written in plain English, in line with our obligation to be transparent under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
We recommend you read it in full. If you have questions, contact us at info@para-gh.co.uk.
Who We Are
Para GH is a UK-based independent property oversight and project management company. We support diaspora clients — primarily based in the United Kingdom — to build, complete, or manage residential property projects in Ghana under UK-standard oversight.
Para GH acts as the data controller for all personal data described in this policy. For data protection enquiries, contact us at info@para-gh.co.uk.
What Personal Data We Collect
We collect only the information we need to operate professionally and protect your interests.
When you contact us or submit an enquiry: Your name, email address, phone number, and WhatsApp contact. Your general location. The content of your enquiry or contact form submission.
Why We Use Your Data and Our Lawful Basis
When you use our website: Usage data collected via cookies and analytics tools, including pages visited, time on site, and referring source. This data is typically aggregated and does not identify you individually unless combined with other information you have provided.
When you become a client: Project information — land status, location, indicative budget, build timeline, and site details. Identity and verification documents where required, such as ID, land title documents, or existing contracts. Payment-related information — note that card and payment details are handled exclusively by our third-party payment processors and are never stored by Para GH directly. Site photographs, video footage, and progress records generated during project oversight. All communications across agreed channels, including email, WhatsApp, phone, and client portals.
Why We Use Your Data and Our Lawful Basis
UK GDPR requires that every processing activity has an identified lawful basis. The table below sets out our purposes and the legal ground for each.
The legal basis on which we process your data depends on what we are using it for. Where we respond to enquiries and provide initial guidance, or where we work to improve website performance, we do so on the basis of legitimate interests — specifically, to operate our business and maintain our service. Where we deliver consultations, manage your property project, provide project updates, or send service communications, processing is necessary to perform the contract between us. Where legal or regulatory obligations require us to retain or use your data, we process it on the basis of legal obligation. Marketing communications are sent only on the basis of your explicit consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have assessed that our interests do not override your rights and freedoms as an individual.
Where we rely on consent — specifically for marketing — you may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us at info@para-gh.co.uk or using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell personal data. We do not share it beyond what is necessary to deliver your project or meet our legal obligations.
Where sharing is required, it is limited and purposeful. Recipients may include:
Payment processors who handle transaction security on our behalf. Scheduling and communication platforms used to deliver our services. Website hosting and analytics providers. Legal or compliance advisors engaged where required. Verified Ghana-based representatives and oversight partners, engaged solely to deliver your project under Para GH supervision and contractual controls.
All third parties who handle your data on our behalf are required to process it only as instructed and to maintain appropriate security standards.
International Transfers
Para GH operates across the United Kingdom and Ghana. Where your personal data is transferred outside the UK — including to our Ghana-based representatives — this is done only where operationally necessary, under contractual safeguards, and in compliance with UK GDPR requirements for international transfers. Para GH remains the responsible data controller at all times.
How We Protect Your Data
Your information is held in secure, cloud-based systems. Access is restricted on a strict need-to-know basis. We use encrypted platforms and secure communication tools. Internal controls are in place to prevent unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. In the event of a personal data breach that meets the threshold for reporting, we will notify the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) within 72 hours and will inform affected individuals where required by law.
How Long We Keep Your Data
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. As a general guide:
Enquiry data where no engagement follows: up to 12 months. Client project records: for the duration of the project and up to 7 years thereafter, in line with standard contractual and legal retention obligations. Marketing consent records: until consent is withdrawn and for a reasonable period after to demonstrate compliance.
Where retention is driven by a specific legal obligation, we will keep data for the period required by that obligation.
Automated Decision-Making
Para GH does not use automated decision-making or profiling in a way that produces legal or similarly significant effects on individuals. All decisions affecting your project or engagement are made by our team.
Your Rights Under UK GDPR
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Right of access — you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. Right to rectification — you may ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data. Right to erasure — you may request deletion of your data where there is no lawful basis for continued retention. Right to restriction — you may ask us to restrict processing in certain circumstances. Right to object — you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Right to data portability — you may request your data in a structured, machine-readable format where technically feasible. Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@para-gh.co.uk. We will respond within one calendar month of receiving your request, in line with our legal obligations.
If you are not satisfied with our response, or if you believe we are processing your data unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): Website: ico.org.uk | Telephone: 0303 123 1113
